[Fukuoka University] Academic and Cultural Festival to be Held (June 20-28)

The "65th Fukuoka University Academic and Cultural Festival," organized by the Fukuoka University Student Association Academic and Cultural Division, will be held from June 20 (Sat) to June 28 (Sun) [June 28 (Sun) is for the "Music Evening" only].

This year's theme is "Kyū" (Pursuit). We asked Mr. Ido Marumoto (4th year, Faculty of Law), the chairman of the 69th Academic and Cultural Division Standing Committee, about the reason for this theme and the highlights of the festival.

・Could you please tell us about the thoughts behind this year's theme, "Kyū"? We have a strong desire to "pass the baton in the best possible condition" and "hold the best academic and cultural festival" as we approach the milestone 70th anniversary of the executive committee next year.

・What are the highlights? Exhibitions by each division. Popular groups such as the Photography Club and the Calligraphy and Art Club, as well as experience-based projects by the Tea Ceremony Club, and research groups like the Law Research Club and Business Administration Research Club will exhibit and present their achievements. We want people to pay attention to groups that are not yet widely known.

We are also holding a stamp rally around the exhibits to encourage visitors to enjoy and engage with each group. Additionally, a lecture by a renowned puzzle creator and the "Message of Life Exhibition" in collaboration with the Fukuoka Prefectural Police are among the socially relevant events that are highlights.

Furthermore, the "Music Evening," a stage event by music-related groups, will also be held. This year, participation from newly formed circles has been added, and you will be able to feel the energy of the entire cultural division.

・What are your thoughts on the upcoming event? We have set a goal to "increase the recognition of the entire Academic and Cultural Division." As chairman, one of my efforts is to shed light not only on long-standing club activities but also on groups that continue to work hard despite being small in number. We want people to experience the appeal of this event, which condenses the results of students' proactive activities.
