"My Husband Asked Me to Cheat" is a live-action drama adaptation of the manga of the same name by Yoshitaka Nakai, currently serialized on Comic Seymour. Since its release in January 2025, it has garnered significant attention, with its realistic portrayal of married life resonating with viewers and exceeding 600,000 total downloads.

Based on the original author's real-life experiences, this real fiction depicts a couple who, while wishing for "family harmony," gradually drift apart due to differing values and choices. Amidst the daily grind of childcare and work, a sexless marriage becomes a catalyst, presenting the wife with an unprecedented choice in the name of "family harmony." The story follows her as she confronts her own feelings and the nature of her family.

[Story]

Housewife Hanae (Yurika Nakamura) lives happily with her husband Hiroki (Reo Sano) and their four-year-old daughter Haruna, but she has one major concern: Hiroki, who works at a bank, is constantly overworked, leaving Hanae to handle childcare alone. They have been in a sexless relationship for five years. Anxious that her own sex life might be over, Hanae one day resolves to invite her husband to bed, but is rejected. Her pent-up frustration explodes, and Hiroki proposes, "I love you, Hanae, but... go find release elsewhere, for sex, for loneliness, for everything."

For the sake of family harmony, Hanae decides to look for sexual partners with her husband's consent, through [existing] ex-boyfriends, [new] dating apps and clubs, and [professional] female sex services.
