Hakone Yunessun Celebrates with an Okinawan Vibe! "Bozappy's Cool Down Mission!" Enjoy, Eat, and Learn This Summer Vacation

Hakone Yunessun (located at 1297 Ninodaira, Hakone-machi, Ashigarashimo-gun, Kanagawa Prefecture; Manager: Keisuke Fujishiki; hereinafter "Yunessun"), which will celebrate its 25th anniversary on January 1, 2026, is introducing a variety of special content themed around "Okinawa," including water-spraying events and limited-time sweets, in conjunction with the park-wide special event "Hakone Oginoen Okinawa Haisai! Festival."

Back Again This Year: "Bozappy's Cool Down Mission!"

This year, days with maximum temperatures reaching 40°C or higher have officially been designated as "extreme heat days." According to the Japan Meteorological Agency's forecast for summer 2026, such extreme heat days are expected to occur at 7 to 14 locations nationwide. To help guests beat the heat, Yunessun will once again host "Bozappy's Cool Down Mission!"—a water-spraying program led by Yunessun's official mascot, "Hakoneko Bozappy" (hereinafter "Bozappy"). Accompanied by upbeat Okinawan-style music, the event will drench the venue in mango-scented mist, enhanced with bubble effects, creating a cool and vibrant summer atmosphere in Hakone.

Limited Summer Menu Launches at "Oginoen Hakoneko-tei"!

"Oginoen Hakoneko-tei," which opened in March 2026 on the 3rd floor of Yunessun's "365 Days Festival Plaza," will offer a variety of Okinawan-inspired dishes for a limited time. In addition to classics like Okinawa soba and saataa andagi, guests can enjoy an original parfait made with Blue Seal Ice Cream, a beloved Okinawan brand. Visit after enjoying Yunessun, or before or after checking in or out from a Yunessun Official Hotel.

Plenty of Activities to Experience Okinawan Culture!

On the 3rd floor of Yunessun, at the "365 Days Festival Plaza," guests can enjoy craft activities that celebrate Okinawan culture and a photo exhibition themed around "fish that live in Okinawa." Additionally, a panel exhibition on coral reef conservation offers educational value and is perfect for children's summer vacation research projects. Daily stage events will feature authentic Eisa dance performances by Eisa teams and staff performances incorporating Okinawan culture.
