Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo (Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, General Manager: Tomohiko Chibiki) will offer a Japanese sake-infused afternoon tea time, 'KUBOTA Afternoon Tea 2026 Autumn,' at the traditional Japanese-style restaurant 'Kinsui' by the Unkin Pond in the garden, starting from September 15, 2026 (Tuesday).
This project, now in its 10th iteration, reconstructs popular menus from previous years, offering an afternoon tea that combines Japanese sake 'Kubota,' autumn flavors, and Kyoto vegetables in a harmonious blend.
◇ Enjoy the Bountiful Autumn with Premium Sake: A Traditional Afternoon Tea Prepared at the Ryotei
With the aim of not only conveying but also evolving and passing on Japanese traditions and culture to future generations, this collaboration, which began in 2021, reaches its 10th iteration this time. The theme for this event is 'Resonance: The Lingering Aftertaste on the Tongue and in the Heart.' Based on the popular menus from the past nine events, the flavors have evolved to highlight the characteristics of Japanese sake 'Kubota' in an autumnal way.
For the upper tier of sweets, we have prepared six items, including 'Kubota Sparkling and Pear Jelly,' which is finished with Kubota Sparkling, and 'Rare Cheesecake,' which combines ricotta cheese and mascarpone with dried persimmons. We have also prepared 'Orange Spice Cake,' which is infused with junmai daiginjo and flavored with cinnamon and nutmeg, and other items that bring out the individual characteristics of each Japanese sake. Additionally, we have prepared 'Chocolate,' which is wrapped in white chocolate with a rich sauce made from Seishu, and 'Plain Scone,' a hotel tradition that is enjoyed with clotted cream mixed with Hyakuju.
For the savory items, we have lined up seven items that consider the compatibility with Japanese sake, such as 'Miso-marinated Salmon and Eggs,' 'Lotus Root Sandwich with Ground Chicken Flavored with Sansho Pepper,' and 'Roasted Duck Breast with Ninejo Negi Miso and Daikoku Senchi.'
We also offer delicate dishes unique to a ryotei, such as 'Matsuba Sashimi,' which is a combination of unagi, cloudy yellowtail, and shrimp simmered in a sweet and savory sauce, and 'Soba Scrape Canapé,' which combines persimmon and cream cheese.
In addition to the main dishes, we offer dishes that incorporate the flavors of autumn, such as 'Kubota Koji Amazake and Fig Slippery,' 'Autumn Shin-Skewered Small Cloth Sushi,' 'One-Bite Inari Sushi,' and 'Asari and Mushroom Okowa.' We also offer 'Matsutake Nabe,' a hot pot made with water from the base of Mount Atago in Kyoto, along with the aroma of hamo, ginkgo nuts, and yuzu, creating a dish that evokes the arrival of autumn.
Furthermore, we will present a special acrylic masu cup with the Kubota logo to our guests. The back of the masu cup features a pattern inspired by the kumiko woodwork adopted in the Japanese sake shelf at the ryotei 'Kinsui.' This is a limited edition design color for this event only.
Additionally, to further enhance your enjoyment of the 'KUBOTA Afternoon Tea,' we will also sell a limited stay plan of one room per day. In addition to the afternoon tea, we will also provide a special gift of 'Kubota Junmai Daiginjo' 300ml per person.
◇ Collaboration with 'Kubota' at the Executive Lounge 'Le Ciel'
During the period, we will also hold a collaboration between the suite guest-exclusive lounge 'Le Ciel' and Japanese sake 'Kubota.'
At 'Le Ciel,' we will have three types of sake available: 'Kubota Chiju,' 'Kubota Manju,' and 'Kubota Chiju Autumn Harvest.' Additionally, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (17:30-18:30), you can enjoy three types of sake: 'Kubota Sparkling,' 'Kubota Junmai Daiginjo,' and 'Kubota Yuzu Liqueur.'
We will also offer light meals to accompany the sake, such as 'Autumn Eggplant and Sanma with Yuzu,' 'Ojiya Croquette with Ume Flavor,' and 'Mushroom Royal,' creating a special moment in the suite.
