Fuji-Q Highland (Fujiyoshida City, Yamanashi Prefecture), which offers free admission, will open a new stage called "Q-STAGE" within the "Central Park" plaza on August 8, 2026 (Sat). This new stage will serve as a hub for diverse entertainment, transcending genres to include music, comedy, dance, idol performances, and sports, establishing it as a new center for cultural expression.
The opening events will kick off with a "FM-FUJI Program Public Recording," followed by events featuring characters born in Yamanashi, such as "Hoppe-chan," a collaboration event with popular video creators "Fischer's," music events by idol group "THE BOYS," and concerts by the JMSDF Tokyo Band and local school brass bands. A wide range of events are already scheduled, ensuring continuous excitement from the park's opening.
Fuji-Q Highland has been working to enhance its attractions beyond thrilling rides, aiming to become a hub for tourism in the Fuji Five Lakes region. Since becoming free to enter in 2018, the park has focused on improving dining facilities and observation spots. In 2022, "Central Park" opened as a space that combines events and relaxation, hosting over 100 events annually to offer enjoyment beyond the rides.
"Q-STAGE," the culmination of these efforts, will feature a large LED screen (10.5m wide x 3m high) and utilize video, light, and sound to realize even more diverse entertainment. On days without events, it will also be available for general use, showing original videos, fan support advertisements, and surprise messages, aiming to create a constantly evolving space that naturally draws people and generates new excitement. Additionally, from August 9 (Sun) to October 12 (Mon, holiday), the park will host the "SPACE INVADERS GIGAMAX" event daily, allowing visitors to enjoy the classic game "Space Invaders" on a massive screen.
Furthermore, as a token of gratitude to the local community that has supported the Fuji-Q Group for 100 years, the stage and Central Park will be provided free of charge to local governments and schools as a venue for them to showcase the results of their daily activities. It will also be utilized as a public space to create new excitement in collaboration with the community.
Fuji-Q Highland will contribute to enhancing the appeal of the Mt. Fuji area as a cultural hub where diverse cultures intersect.
Fuji-Q Highland to Become a New Cultural Hub
The new stage, "Q-STAGE," is equipped with a large LED monitor on its wall (10.5m wide x 3m high). Visitors can enjoy powerful visual performances, as well as completely new interactive entertainment that fuses digital and real elements in an open space, including virtual live performances and giant game experiences.
