No Loss Even in Rain? "PICA Rainy Day HAPPY Guarantee" Trial Period Extended to Summer Vacation's 9/30, Target Areas Expanded with New Addition of "PICA Chichibu" in Saitama Prefecture

PICA Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Fujiyoshida City, Yamanashi Prefecture, President: Katsuhiro Amano), part of the Fujikyu Group, in collaboration with LinkTrip Inc. and Japan Small Amount and Short Term Insurance Co., Ltd., will extend the trial period for its "PICA Rainy Day HAPPY Guarantee," a trial plan that offers up to a 100% cashback on accommodation fees in case of rain, until September 30, 2026, to cover the summer vacation period. Additionally, the target areas will be expanded with the new addition of "PICA Chichibu" in Saitama Prefecture.

"PICA Rainy Day HAPPY Guarantee" is a trial plan, the first in the campground industry in Japan (according to our research), that provides a 50% or 100% cashback on accommodation fees if a predetermined amount of rain falls during specific time slots. It was created with the desire to allow customers to positively enjoy their stay even on rainy days, focusing on "weather," which significantly impacts customer satisfaction in outdoor activities.

Therefore, we have decided to extend the trial period, which was originally scheduled to end on July 24, 2026, to September 30, 2026. This decision was made with the aim of providing peace of mind during rainy days even during the summer vacation and supporting a more positive travel experience by reducing customer anxiety when making travel reservations. This extension will allow the plan to be used not only during the rainy season but also for camping and outdoor trips during the summer vacation period.

Furthermore, in addition to the existing facilities in Yamanashi Prefecture, "PICA Fuji Yoshida," "PICA Fuji Saiko," "PICA Fujiyama," and in Shizuoka Prefecture, "PICA Fuji Grinpa," we will newly add "PICA Chichibu," located in the Chichibu area of Saitama Prefecture. This will make the plan available not only in the Mt. Fuji area but also in the Chichibu area, which is easily accessible from the Tokyo metropolitan area. Combined with the extension of the trial period, more customers can enjoy a "happy even in the rain" outdoor stay.

As of June 30, 2026, 50% cashback has been realized for three customers who met the conditions. We have confirmed that this plan is functioning effectively as a mechanism to "positively change the travel experience on rainy days," and we have received delighted feedback from eligible customers, such as, "I was so happy when I found out the conditions were met on the app screen."

5. Cashback Determination Conditions

If it rains 0.5mm or more continuously during the following time slots, 50% cashback will be provided if either 1 or 2 is met, and 100% cashback if both 1 and 2 are met:

1 On the day of check-in, 15:00 - 21:00

2 The day after check-in, 8:00 - 11:00

6. Flow from Determination to Cashback

(1) Users must install the dedicated app on their smartphone in advance.

(2) Rainfall will be objectively determined based on weather data from Apple Inc.'s "Weather Kit."

* The data determination will take precedence even if it does not match the actual rainfall at the accommodation location.

(3) The rainfall status and eligibility for cashback will be notified to the user via the app.

(4) If the conditions are met, the user will register their bank account for transfer via the app and apply for the cashback.

(5) After application, the cashback will be processed via bank transfer within approximately 2-3 days.
