Announcement of Joint Press Conference on "Eco-Store Collaboration Declaration" by Fupico and New Daiei

Fupico Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and Chairman: Morimasa Sato; hereinafter "Fupico") and Daiei Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Ibaraki City, Osaka Prefecture; Representative Director and President: Yasuo Nishitoge; hereinafter "Daiei," with 187 stores in the Kinki area) will hold a joint press conference on the "Store-to-Store" horizontal recycling initiative (Note 1), which uses stores as starting and ending points, from 13:00 on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at the Rihga Royal Hotel Osaka 2F "Katsura Room" in Osaka Prefecture. This initiative is a collaboration between Fupico and Daiei to promote "horizontal recycling," where used food trays collected at stores are reborn as new food trays, circulating global resources and reducing CO2. Local residents are asked to bring used food trays to Daiei stores, where they will be collected in designated collection boxes. The collected used trays will be recycled at Fupico's production factories and reborn as eco-products (Note 2) such as "Eco-Trays." These regenerated eco-products will be actively used again in Daiei's sales floors, realizing a circular "Store-to-Store" horizontal recycling system that connects the "stores" that collect and the "stores" where eco-products are displayed. Both companies will strengthen and expand this initiative to circulate local resources together with customers. They will also work towards target values for CO2 emissions reduction achievable through the use of eco-products.
