Yuya Tegoshi Releases New Single "SUPER STAR" with Music Video; Announces 2026 Nationwide Tour

Yuya Tegoshi has returned with a new single titled "SUPER STAR," a track described as capturing his unique "flashy yet cool" persona. The song was written, composed, and arranged by long-time collaborator Mikey, who also served as the director for the music video.

During the music video production, director Mikey opted for a "one-cut style" approach, relying heavily on Tegoshi's improvisational skills for scenes outside of the main chorus. Despite a tight schedule that required Tegoshi to learn the choreography on the day of the shoot, the production concluded nearly an hour ahead of schedule, showcasing the high level of synergy between the artist and the crew.

In a post-filming interview, Mikey shared that the inspiration for "SUPER STAR" came from his observation of Tegoshi as a definitive icon in the entertainment industry. The track is designed to leverage Tegoshi's public image while incorporating personal touches, such as his signature catchphrase "Tei!" and high-quality vocal recordings of his characteristic expressions. Tegoshi noted that he trusts Mikey's objective perspective, allowing the producer to highlight facets of his personality—both the "bright" superstar persona and the deeper, more complex human elements—that he might not express through his own songwriting.

The single serves as the title track for the upcoming "Yuya Tegoshi LIVE TOUR 2026 SUPER STAR." The tour is scheduled to visit multiple cities across Japan, including Yokohama, Osaka, Nagoya, Sendai, Sapporo, and Fukuoka, with additional hall performances in Tokyo and other regions later in the year.

Tegoshi expressed his hope that "SUPER STAR" would serve as a "self-affirmation booster" for listeners, encouraging them to focus on their strengths and maintain a positive outlook.
