[Moomin Arabia] 'I don't want to be bossed around by anyone!' Introducing the new 'Rebel Club' collection colored with vivid comic art

Moomin Arabia, a Finnish lifestyle brand under Fiskars Japan, will release its new collection 'Rebel Club' on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, inspired by the Moomin comics serialized in the 1950s British newspaper 'Evening News.'

This collection features two items: a 'Mug 0.4L' and a 'Tote Bag' (scheduled for release in September 2026), each available in four designs. The collection uses vivid comic art to express the humor, absurd stories, and slightly exaggerated emotional expressions unique to the comics.

Unlike traditional collections beloved for their gentle Nordic colors and warm world view, 'Rebel Club' is characterized by vivid coloring and bold comic art.

Its graphic design, which incorporates comic dialogues, exudes a sense of playfulness and energetic mood reminiscent of street culture, allowing fans to experience a new charm of Moomin.

■ 1950s comics for adults, breathing with humor and satire

In 1954, Tove Jansson started the serialization of Moomin comics in the British newspaper 'Evening News.' This serialization led the Moomin stories to take on an 'adult' tone mixed with humor and satire.

From 1957 to 1960, her brother Lars Jansson supported script production, and afterwards, he managed the series alone until 1975.

Based on five comics published in the 1950s, 'Rebel Club' features four designs. Fans can enjoy a new side of characters who are somehow full of humanity, depicted from a comical and slightly ironic perspective, including Moominpappa full of rebellious spirit, the emotionally rich and sensitive Moomin, the mysterious Hattifatteners, Little My who enjoys the thrill, and the independent Snorkmaiden.

Based on the comic 'Moominmamma's Little Secret' (1957).
In Moominvalley, it becomes a trend to join secret societies. Moominpappa, who was not accepted by any club, forms his own 'Rebel Club' out of a spirit of rebellion.
Though the club advocates for 'freedom from being bossed around by anyone,' ironically, they begin to create strict rules for themselves.

■ 'Stick to your goals!' | Boss Lady
Based on the comic 'Moominvalley's Carefree Life' (1958).
A member of the 'Alliance for Conscience and Duty' appears in Moominvalley, and modern lifestyles such as work, schedule management, and responsibility become popular.
Snorkmaiden also starts working as a secretary aiming for an independent life, but her true purpose is a romance with her boss. However, upon realizing that the most romantic act a corporate worker can show is 'cleaning the typewriter,' she quits her job.

■ 'Order, please!' | Party Queue
Based on the comics 'Moomin and the Comet' (1958) and 'Moomin's Lone Journey' (1954–55).
A mass of Hattifatteners push into Moominhouse through the window and demand 'Cocktails!' Exhausted by the uninvited guests, Moomin begins to think about how to drive them out. On the other hand, Little My seems to enjoy even the dangerous atmosphere of the electrically charged Hattifatteners.
