Fukushima Firebonds has formulated the 'Koriyama Urban Development Vision Sketch,' a regional concept centered on the Kaiseizan area of Koriyama City. The vision was officially announced today following a courtesy visit to the Mayor of Koriyama. About this Initiative This project began after being selected for the 'Sports x Regional Issue Solving Urban Development Model Project' by the B.League and The Nippon Foundation. It marks the culmination of a year spent seriously questioning 'how a sports club can contribute to regional urban development' using our hometown, Koriyama, as the field.
Through multiple dialogues and workshops with Koriyama City, we organized the many regional issues and possibilities that emerged. This vision sketch expresses the direction of our urban development through words and illustrations. The initiative was supported by Humanitas Inc. (Representative Director: Keita Nakajima), which specializes in urban development through sports. Please note that this vision sketch was formulated independently by Firebonds and does not represent specific facility development plans or government administrative plans.
What is 'BONDS KORIYAMA FUTURE VISION'? The core vision is to 'create a city where possibilities continue to be born for the next generation.' This sketch is not a blueprint for urban planning or facility construction, but a future image of regional activities envisioned by the Bonds. It is a community model depicted as a single illustration, showing scenes of 'human movement, encounters, and challenges' that could actually occur in the Kaiseizan area of Koriyama City. It is a declaration of intent for the future, drawn together by the Bonds and the local community.
The sketch illustrates urban development activity scenes that the Bonds aim to pursue, aligned with four key visions.
Intergenerational Exchange - Creating a Daily Hub Open 365 Days a Year With the 'Sports Community' (Spo-Commu) at its core, we aim to make Kaiseizan a place where exchanges occur across generations, from children to the elderly. Through initiatives like monthly open days, local residents will naturally gather, and through running and health programs, we will cultivate a 'place you want to visit again' in daily life.
Enriching Life Experiences - Creating Moving Experiences through Sports, Health, and Learning We will create diverse opportunities, such as children participating in challenge programs, vocational experiences alongside players, and sports activities for parents and children to sweat together. By establishing environments that are 'easy to visit and participate in' through measures like shuttle buses for children and park-and-walk schemes, we will accumulate moving experiences where people can say they 'tried it' with sports as the entry point.
