Q-STAR and NEDO to Support the Quantum Computing EXPO
Q-STAR and NEDO have been confirmed as supporting organizations for the upcoming Quantum Computing EXPO.
RX Japan Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Takeshi Tanaka) is pleased to announce that the Quantum Strategic Industry Alliance for Revolution (Q-STAR) (Secretariat: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Taro Shimada) and the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) (Headquarters: Kawasaki, Kanagawa; Chairman: Hiroaki Saito) will serve as supporting organizations for the 6th Quantum Computing EXPO [Spring] (hereinafter referred to as "the Exhibition"), to be held at Tokyo Big Sight in April 2026.
The Exhibition is Japan's only* trade show dedicated to quantum computing, held as part of NexTech Week 2026 [Spring]. It offers a comprehensive platform to compare and evaluate the current state of quantum computing technology, ranging from the latest research and applications to implementation support and talent development. Held concurrently with other exhibitions within NexTech Week (covering AI, blockchain, humanoid robots, and human resources/organizational reform in the AI era), it provides a cross-disciplinary view of the latest technologies and creates opportunities for concrete business negotiations and partnerships.
Quantum computing is steadily progressing from basic research to demonstration and application phases for social implementation. Use cases directly linked to business value are becoming concrete, including new material and drug discovery, combinatorial optimization (logistics, personnel allocation, etc.), cryptography/security, and Quantum x AI (quantum machine learning). Consequently, the surrounding ecosystem—including cloud usage, implementation support, and talent development—is expanding, providing companies with more options to experiment on a small scale and gradually broaden their scope of application. However, expanding the industry requires broadening the talent base, promoting literacy, and advancing international cooperation and standardization, making collaboration across industry, academia, and government, including startups, essential.
With the participation of Q-STAR, which leads the creation of industry-academia-government collaboration platforms, standardization, and talent development, and NEDO, which supports the promotion of R&D, demonstration, and social implementation, the value of this exhibition—where visitors, exhibitors, and research institutions gather—will be further strengthened, contributing to the acceleration of social implementation and industrialization of quantum technology.
*Based on third-party database (JETRO J-messe) and official venue records as a "trade show specializing in quantum computing." No equivalent trade show has been confirmed (as of February 5, 2026, according to our research).

Representative Director: Mr. Taro Shimada
We warmly welcome the holding of the Quantum Computing EXPO. Q-STAR has been promoting collaboration among industry, academia, government, and startups, as well as talent development, standardization, and international cooperation, with the goal of social implementation of quantum technology and the creation of new industries. This exhibition is an ideal venue for diverse players to concretize use cases and implementation paths. Through collaboration with visitors and exhibitors, we will further accelerate demonstration, standardization, and the expansion of the talent base, contributing to the realization of a society where quantum technology can be utilized without being consciously aware of it.
■ RX Japan Ltd.
Quantum Computing EXPO Show Director: Atom Shimoda
I am confident that by combining the industry-academia-government expertise of Q-STAR and NEDO with the "real-world dialogue space" provided by this exhibition, we will create opportunities for practitioners to deepen essential discussions and learning. Many companies are still in the process of determining how to apply quantum technology to their business challenges. This exhibition aims to serve as a catalyst for discovering possibilities and a place to find concrete means and new partners. Together with our supporting organizations and other stakeholders, we will accelerate the social implementation and industrialization of quantum technology through solid demonstrations and the expansion of the talent base.
The comments from supporting organizations in this release are provided solely by the Quantum Strategic Industry Alliance for Revolution (Q-STAR). While individual comments from NEDO are not included, this exhibition is held with the support of both organizations.
