The "Comprehensive Sex Education" class, which has been continuously implemented since fiscal year 2024, was held again in fiscal year 2026.

The class aimed to equip high school students with accurate knowledge about sex and foster an attitude of respect for themselves and others. It included quizzes and specific case studies to clearly explain topics such as sexually transmitted infections and teenage pregnancy, in line with the health and physical education curriculum.

In the post-implementation survey, many participating students expressed a deeper understanding of the class content, with high ratings such as "Understood" and "Helpful."

Through this class, students had the opportunity to learn accurate information about sex and consider self-determination and respect for self and others.

[Theme] "What a Midwife Wants to Tell High School Students"

[Date and Time] June 23, 2026 (Tue) 13:50-14:40

[Location] Kokugakuin University Kugayama High School

[Lecturer] Erika Ninomiya, Midwife, Famione Co., Ltd.

Comment from Ms. Manako Nakano, Teacher at Kokugakuin University Kugayama High School

The lecture was delivered in language easily understood by 17-year-olds wanting to know about sex, allowing them to learn about sexual awareness, respect, and the importance of choosing sexual behaviors. I hope this opportunity will strengthen students' feelings of valuing their own bodies more than before. Thank you for the lecture for the third consecutive year.

Comment from Erika Ninomiya, Midwife at Famione

I am very grateful to be giving my third lecture this time. I find it refreshing each year to see the different reactions from the students. Some listen with rich expressions, reacting with surprise or laughter to the content, while others listen with serious faces.

The lecture covers topics within the scope of the health and physical education curriculum for second-year high school students, but I would be happy if it serves as an opportunity for each student to think about "What if it were me?" or "What would I do if a friend asked for advice?" as if it were their own situation. I hope this time will be useful not only now in high school but also in their future lives.

Comments from the Survey

- It was very interesting and educational to hear directly and concretely from a midwife. I learned that one can get pregnant even with casual sexual intercourse, so it's important to have solid knowledge. I think there are few such troubles while I am a high school student at this school, but the possibility of such problems arising as I go out into society as a university student is high, so I want to be careful.

- Thank you for your valuable talk today despite your busy schedule. Sex education has an image of being awkward and something that cannot be discussed in front of others, but sex education from people who have attended births is precious to me. I realized that when having sex, one's life can change significantly with just one act.

- I thought it was quite detailed, but I felt it was something I should know now. Although I was surprised at first, I decided that I want to think carefully about my own life.

- I was a little surprised that the content was more in-depth than in health class, but I feel I have reconfirmed my understanding of sex with a sense of reality. Thank you very much.

Famione's Past Initiatives

For three consecutive years, from fiscal year 2024 to fiscal year 2026, Famione's midwife Erika Ninomiya has been in charge of comprehensive sex education classes for second-year female students at her alma mater, Kokugakuin University Kugayama High School. The content, which clearly conveys themes relevant to students' real lives such as sexually transmitted infections, teenage pregnancy, and sexual consent through quizzes and case studies, received a "Helpful" rating from 84% of the 147 participating students in fiscal year 2025. In fiscal year 2026, the content was updated from the previous year, with the addition of sexual consent as a theme, and has been continuously implemented with evolving content each year. This year, we will continue to hold classes at the same school, working to spread accurate knowledge about sex among the younger generation and foster an awareness of self-respect and respect for others.
