Chatting slowly while watching the flames of a campfire. Beside you, a cat has naturally curled up and fallen asleep. Such a day in the Satoyama is a common sight at Washinmura.
About the Facility
Scattered across the premises are a traditional house built about 200 years ago, a Nagayamon gate, tents, and snow peak Jyubako (mobile houses). We live together with the following animals:
- 15 rescued cats + 1 cat (living in the staff dormitory🏠✨)
- Goats
- Dogs
- A family of Silkie chickens

Under the guidance of veterinarians, to manage the cats' health, we ask that you refrain from bringing in commercially available treats.
