The **Osaka Sakuya-hime SDGs Study Group (Representative: Miki Kotani) will launch a new human resource development program for female managers and leaders, the Sakuyahime Woman Executive Program (hereinafter, SWEP), starting in April 2026.**
## Background of the Launch
The ratio of female managers and executives in Japan remains low by international standards, and expanding women's participation in corporate decision-making is an urgent issue. As society becomes more globalized and diversified, it is more important than ever for companies to enhance their own diversity, increase the value of products and services that cater to diverse customers, and strengthen their competitiveness to achieve sustainable growth.
However, even for women with a certain level of career experience, opportunities to systematically learn management perspectives, networks that transcend corporate boundaries, and practical experience in decision-making have been limited, becoming one of the factors hindering their advancement to executive and leader levels.
Based on its network of female leaders active as corporate managers, executives, and professionals, the **Osaka Sakuya-hime SDGs Study Group** has held eight international women's conferences, creating a forum for sharing knowledge and discussing how to turn diversity into value. Based on the unique know-how accumulated through these activities and the experiences of its members, we have now **developed the 'SWEP' female executive appointment program, which will be launched in April 2026.**
