Everyday Gold Rush's SDGs Community Contribution Project: Tackling the Problem of Abandoned Umbrellas During the Rainy Season!

Everyday Gold Rush, a recycling shop operated by Toyo Co., Ltd. (Okegawa City, Saitama Prefecture; Representative Director: Hideo Nakamura), is launching a community contribution project at its Sengendai and PAPA Ageo stores. Regardless of whether customers are selling items, the shop will provide free vinyl umbrellas to those in need due to sudden rain. Recently, the abandonment of vinyl umbrellas in trains and shopping malls has become a persistent issue. According to Japan Trend Research, about 80% of people leave their vinyl umbrellas behind if they lose them. Therefore, Everyday Gold Rush is taking the initiative to effectively utilize approximately 100 reusable vinyl umbrellas collected from its 12 stores over the past year. With a mission to "connect precious items to the next person," we are engaged in community contribution activities through reuse. As June is the rainy season, many people are troubled by sudden rain. We planned this project with the hope of providing still-usable vinyl umbrellas to those in need as part of our SDGs activities. Event Name: Free Vinyl Umbrella Distribution! Project Details: Collecting and distributing vinyl umbrellas that were scheduled to be discarded as lost property. Period: June 1st (Mon) to June 30th (Tue). Locations: Everyday Gold Rush Sengendai Store (3-2-12 Sengendai-nishi, Koshigaya City, Saitama) and Everyday Gold Rush PAPA Ageo Store (3-3-11 Midorigaoka, Ageo City, Saitama). Everyday Gold Rush is a specialty recycling shop operated by Toyo Co., Ltd., with 8 stores in Saitama Prefecture, primarily buying jewelry, precious metals, watches, and brand items. The company has introduced a unique "Memory Appraisal" service, where they listen to the memories associated with the customer's items to increase the purchase price.
