## First Group Home for Individuals with Severe Disabilities in Saga Prefecture

Eustyle Laboratory Co., Ltd. (HQ: Nakano, Tokyo; CEO: Ken Ohata), a major provider of home care services for individuals with severe disabilities and chronic diseases, opened 'Eustyle Home Tosu' on May 1, 2026. Located in Tosu City, Saga Prefecture, this is the company's first 'daytime support' group home in the prefecture, designed to address the shortage of residential facilities for individuals with severe physical, intellectual, or mental disabilities.

The company already operates the 'Eustyle Care Saga' home care office in the prefecture. By integrating the new group home with existing home care services, Eustyle provides expanded living options for individuals with severe disabilities and their families in the Saga area.

## Kyushu Expansion Plan

Since opening its first Kyushu facility, 'Eustyle Home Kurume,' in April 2025, the company has observed extremely high demand for residential care. In response, Eustyle Laboratory plans to open four additional facilities in the Kyushu area by January 2027.

## The Necessity of 'Daytime Support' Facilities

With Japan's ratification of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, there is a push to transition care from institutional settings to community-based living. 'Daytime support' homes offer 24/7 care, including daytime activities, primarily for individuals with a support level of 4 or higher. As these facilities currently account for less than 10% of all group homes in Japan, there is an urgent need for more capacity.

This facility welcomes individuals who have struggled to find post-hospitalization placements, including those with severe intellectual or mental disabilities. The facility is fully accessible, featuring elevators and automated bathing systems to ensure a safe environment for residents with various types of disabilities. Additionally, residents can utilize both group home services and home care services concurrently, providing flexible support tailored to individual needs.

## Expertise in Severe Disability Care

Since its founding in 2012, Eustyle Laboratory has specialized in care for severe disabilities and rare diseases. Staff members are highly trained through the company's training program, 'Eustyle College,' completing certifications in medical care and support for severe behavioral disorders. The new facility offers meals supervised by registered dietitians and provides private, 6-tatami mat rooms with storage.
