Eucalia Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Hideo Misawa; hereinafter 'Eucalia'), in a joint study with the Department of Neurosurgery at Yokohama City University Graduate School of Medicine, analyzed 161,847 brain checkup records accumulated through its health checkup platform 'Smart Dock.' The study successfully stratified the progression risk of 'white matter lesions,' considered a sign of brain aging, based on age and the presence of hypertension, and calculated appropriate re-examination intervals. Until now, there have been no clear guidelines regarding re-examination intervals for brain checkups. This research contributes to the expansion of preventive medicine for dementia and stroke by evolving brain checkups from an optional test into one where active participation is recommended based on 'when and at what interval' to undergo the test. These results were reported at the 35th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Brain Dock on May 30, 2026. 'Smart Brain Dock' is a sharing economy business that utilizes idle MRI time, allowing for examinations at a reasonable price (24,750 yen including tax).
