The Kobe R&D Center of ESPEC CORP. (Headquarters: Kita-ku, Osaka; President: Satoshi Arata) has received the '2026 Prime Minister's Award for Contributors to the National Greenery Promotion Movement.' This prestigious award recognizes individuals and groups with outstanding achievements in greening activities and public awareness. Since starting operations in 2001, the Kobe R&D Center has pursued the concept of 'restoring original nature.' It has developed 'ESPEC's Forest' with 30,000 trees across 65 species, created biotopes for diverse wildlife, and established rooftop grasslands representing local flora. The center also actively collaborates with local universities and elementary schools for environmental education. In 2022, it launched the 'ESPEC 50-Year Forest' initiative in collaboration with the Forestry Agency.
