Comment from Koichi Kawai, Representative Director and President, Head of Global Investment Research Division
We are very pleased to begin research coverage on Nireco Corporation, which has supported manufacturing lines in a wide range of industries, from steel and non-ferrous metals to food, printing, and high-performance films, since its establishment in 1950, based on control, image processing, sensing, and optical technologies.
The company operates in three segments: Control Equipment Business, Inspection Equipment Business, and Optics Business. In recent years, it has also focused on expanding into next-generation storage battery-related areas, such as electrode sheet inspection devices for secondary batteries. In the third quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2026, sales increased by 1.0% year-on-year, maintaining a revenue growth trend, while a deterioration in profitability in the Inspection Equipment Business and Optics Business put pressure on overall earnings. The full-year earnings trends for each business, the progress of continued revenue growth in the Control Equipment Business, the recovery of profitability in the Inspection Equipment and Optics Businesses, and the timing of demand recovery for secondary batteries will be analyzed from multiple perspectives by our analysts in this fiscal year's financial results.
Envalith will contribute to the revitalization of Japan's capital market by delivering the value of companies that support Japan's industrial infrastructure to global investors in Japanese, English, and Chinese.
