Himeji Children Learn About Community, Work, and Money to Create a Society Where They Can Realize Their Dreams

Enbridge Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: 2-56 Uenoda, Shikama-ku, Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture; Representative Director: Yutaro Yamada) announces the 2026 (3rd) holding of the "Himeji Junior Economy College (Himeji Juni-Eco)," which it has been working on since 2024, and that it will host the "Juni-Eco Summit" in Himeji in the winter of 2027.

What is the Junior Economy College? It is a program that develops "individuals who can make their own decisions and act" through business experience. 5th and 6th graders establish a mock company and experience a series of cycles from planning, procurement, manufacturing, sales, settlement, to tax payment. Through real experiences without a single correct answer, they acquire the ability to think for themselves and make their own decisions.

### What the children taught us in the past two sessions For three months, teams clashed while creating products, raised funds through presentations to shareholders, and challenged sales. Whether they made a profit or cried in frustration over a deficit, everyone learned the "difficulty of earning money" and "gratitude towards workers" through their own bodies. This is an experience that can never be gained from textbooks.
