Background and Aim
Aiming to realize carbon neutrality by 2050, Aichi Prefecture is promoting the popularization of "perovskite solar cells," which can be installed on walls and roofs with low load-bearing capacity where conventional silicon solar cells were difficult to install.
EM Solutions and its group company, Nito Kogyo, endorse the purpose of this project. Nito Kogyo will provide its factory facilities as a demonstration field, and EM Solutions will be responsible for the design and construction of the electrical equipment, thereby contributing to the expansion of renewable energy introduction.
As members of the "Aichi Perovskite Solar Cell Promotion Council," EM Solutions and Nito Kogyo will utilize the knowledge gained through this demonstration to cooperate in solving issues and establishing model cases for the social implementation of "perovskite solar cells."
As suitable locations for installing solar power generation facilities decrease in Japan, there are high expectations for the popularization of "perovskite solar cells," which can be installed on building walls and low-load-bearing roofs. In particular, there are approximately 1.3 million (equivalent to the number of contracts) "high-voltage receiving facilities" installed in factories and commercial facilities nationwide. In this demonstration, we will verify its effectiveness based on the hypothesis that these "high-voltage receiving facilities" have a "high potential as suitable installation sites."
Overview of the Demonstration
"Perovskite solar cells" will be installed on the top and door surfaces of the high-voltage receiving equipment within Nito Kogyo's Seto Plant and utilized as a power source for peripheral equipment. EM Solutions will be responsible for the design and construction of the electrical equipment related to the installation of the "perovskite solar cells."
