Liquid Inc., part of ELEMENTS Group, has implemented its online identity verification service "LIQUID eKYC" for Gakushi Co., Ltd.'s scholarship management system "Gakushi Agent." This integration allows for identity verification during scholarship applications by combining IC chip reading of identity documents (such as My Number Cards) with facial recognition technology. This method aims to prevent fraudulent applications and streamline administrative processes. Gakushi, which operates a scholarship information platform, sought a more robust identity verification system to comply with regulations like the Act on Prevention of Transfer of Criminal Proceeds, especially for loan-type scholarships. Liquid's "LIQUID eKYC" was chosen for its performance, rapid deployment, and proven success in the eKYC market, where it has held the top market share for six consecutive years (2019-2024 forecast). Liquid reports approximately 150 million identity verification cases and 600 cumulative client contracts. Liquid Inc. was established in December 2018, and Gakushi Co., Ltd. was established on March 1, 2019.
