LINE Solves 'Carelessness' and 'Where Should I Take It?' for Garbage Disposal.

Three new features provided by Dustalk (Garbage Disposal Calendar, Collection Day Notification, Recycling Collection Map). All are completed within LINE.

Nishihara Shoji Holdings Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture; President: Yasuhiro Nishihara; hereinafter referred to as "Our Company") announced on April 1, 2026, that its group company, Beetle Management Co., Ltd., has launched three functions – Garbage Disposal Calendar, Collection Day Notification, and Recycling Collection Map – for its application "Dustalk," based on a collaboration agreement with Kashima City, Ibaraki Prefecture. No dedicated app installation is required; citizens can use all functions with just their everyday LINE.

Background and Objectives

Garbage disposal oversights and sorting errors are not only a minor stress for citizens but also a structural problem leading to inefficient collection operations and improper disposal. Furthermore, because information on recycling stations and collection points is scattered across the city's website and paper notices, cases where recyclable resources are discarded as burnable waste due to not knowing "where to take them" are not uncommon.

The addition of these features aims to resolve this "dispersion" and "difficulty of access" of information. By creating an environment where citizens can access garbage disposal information through LINE, which they use daily, we aim for a system where correct garbage disposal naturally becomes established without requiring special behavioral changes.

Three Added Features

01 Calendar

Displays Kashima City's collection schedule within Dustalk. Users can check collection days for categories such as burnable waste and recyclable waste, with support for district-specific displays according to their address. It can be confirmed directly from LINE without the hassle of opening the city's website.

02 Collection Day Notification

Receive reminders via LINE push notifications on the day before or the morning of the collection day. There is no need to launch an app to receive notifications, and the design allows for continued use by a wide range of citizens, including the elderly.

03 Recycling Collection Map

Displays recycling collection points within the city on a map, allowing users to check the items accepted at each point.

Future Development

Starting with the implementation in Kashima City, Our Company plans to sequentially roll out these functions to municipalities nationwide. All three functions can be individually configured according to each municipality's collection system, district divisions, and item categories, allowing for introduction with minimal operational burden on the administration.

As an "Operating System for Waste" connecting municipalities, citizens, and processors on a single platform, Dustalk aims to become the national standard model for general waste treatment DX.
