[Doho University] Experience the World of Animal Therapy

On June 6th (Sat), Doho University will host a special experiential event during its open campus, led by faculty from the 'Mental Health and Welfare' course within the Department of Social Welfare. This special project features an interactive corner hosted by faculty members researching animal therapy. Attendees can actually interact with animals and check for changes in their stress levels by collecting saliva samples before and after the interaction. Come and experience firsthand the healing effects that interactions with animals can have on you. He mainly teaches courses aimed at students seeking certification as a Mental Health and Welfare Worker. ◆ Learning in the Social Welfare Major 'Creating a society where everyone can realize the value of life.' Modern Japan faces various life challenges, such as a declining birthrate and an aging population. In the coming era, professional knowledge and skills in welfare, combined with 'human power' that allows for empathy for others' feelings, will be essential. In each course of the Social Welfare major, students cultivate practical skills through on-site training and fieldwork, aiming to become leaders in building an ideal society who can tackle the diverse challenges surrounding social welfare.
