NTT Docomo (hereinafter, Docomo) has decided to spin out the airline recruitment platform "HUD SONiC" (read: Had Sonic), which was proposed by an employee through the Docomo Group's *1 new business creation program "docomo STARTUP®" *2. Masahiro Nojiri, a Docomo employee, has been appointed as the Representative Director and President of Aeromuse Inc. (read: Aeromuse, hereinafter, Aeromuse), which operates "HUD SONiC," and the business commenced on Friday, May 1, 2026.

Furthermore, investment in Aeromuse will be made by Chiba Dojo Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) and Docomo.

In the aviation industry, against the backdrop of increasing global travel demand and the rise of LCCs, it is predicted that there will be a shortage of approximately 80,000 airline pilots (hereinafter, pilots) worldwide by 2032 *4. As the training of pilots requires immense time and resources, airlines in various countries are increasingly reliant on mid-career recruitment. On the other hand, existing recruitment methods face management challenges such as prolonged recruitment due to difficulties in reaching potential job-changing candidates and the time required to verify specialized data such as flight hours and license information necessary for pilot recruitment.

Additionally, while pilots are obligated to record flight data in a logbook, the process is complicated by numerous entry items and insufficient digitalization. This leads to considerable effort in verifying recruitment requirements and calculating flight hours during job changes, resulting in a cumbersome process from daily flight record-keeping to career development.

"HUD SONiC" is a platform that combines logbook record efficiency with a recruitment database, simultaneously solving challenges for both airlines and pilots. For airlines, it provides recruitment support functions that allow efficient access to pilots who meet recruitment requirements. For pilots, it offers a free application that streamlines logbook recording. In preliminary verification conducted in 2025, it garnered interest from pilots in 70 countries, with expectations for improved efficiency in airline recruitment processes and support for pilot career development.

Aeromuse aims to become an infrastructure that supports the careers and lifestyles of pilots worldwide, while also contributing to solving talent challenges in the aviation industry.
