First Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kyoto City, Minami Ward, President and CEO: Naoki Yamaji) has been awarded the 76th "Industrial Technology Award" by the Japan Society for Industrial Technology Development for the development of a "polyurethane resin aqueous dispersion with high heat resistance." This award is presented to engineers who have contributed to the advancement of industrial research, inventions, and field technologies.

Scenes from the award ceremony (May 22, 2026, KKR Hotel Osaka)

Our developed polyurethane resin aqueous dispersion achieves high heat resistance through optimal chemical structure design. Furthermore, by using water as the dispersion medium instead of solvents, it is an environmentally friendly material that contributes to reducing the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The combination of high performance and reduced environmental impact has been recognized. This technology also received the "Invention Encouragement Prize" at the Reiwa 7th Kinki Regional Invention Awards in November 2025.

First Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. will continue to address customer challenges and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society through the development of high-value-added materials.

*Details of this award will be published in the August 2026 issue of the Osaka Society for Industrial Technology Development's monthly magazine "Science and Industry."
