■ The Latest Leader Theory Taught by a Professional Social Insurance Labor Consultant Who Has Dealt with 3,000 Labor Consultations!

Due to the legal amendment on May 14, 2025, the obligation to conduct stress checks will be expanded to businesses with fewer than 50 employees, which were previously only encouraged. In response to these changes, leaders are increasingly required not only to achieve results but also to create an environment where members can work with peace of mind. On the other hand, many leaders are burdened with issues such as the distance from subordinates, consideration for harassment, and mental care, leading to their own exhaustion.

"Not enough staff," "The workplace atmosphere is heavy," "Warning someone makes the relationship worse"—This book offers a "new era of leadership theory" taught by a social insurance labor consultant who has faced over 3,000 such labor consultations.

Instead of motivating subordinates with spiritualism or managing them strictly, it explains how to understand and reduce workplace stress. Based on the eight elements of the stress check questionnaire (80-item version) such as "workload," "support from others," and "workplace vitality," it clearly explains know-how that can be immediately applied in the field.

The methods introduced are simple and can be practiced starting today, such as "properly saying thank you," "providing reasons when giving warnings," and "asking 'How have you been?' even when busy." Such small accumulations change the workplace atmosphere, transform human relationships, and lead to improved organizational performance.

It's a book for achieving "stress-free management" where subordinates trust you, you are evaluated by the company, and you don't overexert yourself.

■ Author Profile:

Junya Honda (Honda Junya)

Representative, Honda Social Insurance Labor Consultant Office

Born in Fukaura Town, Aomori Prefecture in 1975. After graduating from Hokkaido Automobile Junior College, he worked as a mechanic at a dealership, then in the editorial department of a 4WD magazine in Tokyo. He later returned to Aomori and gained sales experience at a company dealing with hotels and real estate. He co-founded a company with colleagues and managed it jointly. Employing about 10 staff members, he keenly felt the difficulties and rewards of leading people while working on the front lines. When he left the company due to differences in management philosophy, through discussions with his consulting tax accountant, he aspired to become a social insurance labor consultant, thinking, "Because I know the struggles of management, I want to help managers and frontline staff with my specialized knowledge." He studied practical skills while working at a social insurance labor consultant's office in the morning and a tax accountant's office in the afternoon. Although his life was difficult, this experience of "knowing the groundwork better than anyone else" became the foundation of his current activities. He has handled over 3,000 labor consultations, observing what motivates people and what breaks them within companies.

While continuously addressing frontline issues, he became convinced that "a leader's small behaviors, rather than systems or logic, can change the workplace." Based on this realization and accumulated insights, he wrote this book. Currently, based on his practical experience, he also works as a "Management Companion Consultant" for business owners nationwide, supporting them with their daily decisions and human resource challenges.
His other books include "Human Resource Strategies for Regional Companies Surviving in an Era of Labor Shortages" (Rodo Shinbunsha) and "Management and Labor Management in the Automobile Maintenance Industry" (Nihon Horei). He likes cats.
