Digital Hollywood (operated by Digital Hollywood Inc., Headquarters/Main Campus: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Masanori Fujii), an IT and digital content training school, is strengthening its collaboration with anime production companies with the aim of training CG creators who can thrive in the anime industry.

In June, we will hold a special event in collaboration with Studio Khara, featuring talk sessions by active creators, and announce the "Anime CG Practical Program" where students can learn directly from companies.

In the talk session, creators active in the anime industry will take the stage to discuss the realities of production sites and careers. Many students participated, deepening their understanding of the anime industry. Furthermore, at the time of the event, an overview of the "Anime CG Practical Program" for creators aiming for the anime industry was released. This new initiative was introduced as a way to provide practical learning opportunities through collaboration with companies.

[Background: Promoting Practical Education through Collaboration with Anime Production Companies]

As the anime market continues to expand both domestically and internationally, the use of CG technology is also advancing, leading to an increasing demand for CG creators in the anime industry. In this context, educational institutions are also being called upon to provide practical learning opportunities that are mindful of production sites.

Digital Hollywood is working to create learning opportunities through collaboration with anime production companies so that students aiming for the anime industry can gain a more concrete understanding of the field and accumulate practical experience.

Studio Khara has Digital Hollywood graduates working there, serving as an example of how learning at the school connects to the actual anime production sites. This program will extend such connections to the next generation of students, developing learning for those aiming for the anime industry into more practical opportunities.

[Special Event Held with Active Creators]

On June 13, 2026, a special event was held featuring a talk session with Mr. Yusuke Matsui, an animation director/director affiliated with Studio Khara and a graduate of Digital Hollywood, as a guest.

In the talk session, Mr. Matsui, who transitioned from a hairdresser to a CG creator and is now active as a director, looked back on his career and discussed the appeal of working in the anime industry and the realities of the production sites. He spoke about the behind-the-scenes aspects of production and the enjoyment of being involved in creating works, sharing his real-life experiences, and participants listened intently.

A Q&A session was also held, providing an opportunity to deepen understanding of the anime industry as participants asked questions and received answers from a production site perspective.

Participants commented, "I learned many things I couldn't get from online information, and it helped me visualize what it would be like after entering the anime industry," "It was interesting to hear about the specific job content," and "I want to work at Studio Khara after graduating from Digital Hollywood."

[Launch of "Anime CG Practical Program" to Learn Directly from Companies]

Digital Hollywood is launching the "Anime CG Practical Program" in collaboration with companies, providing students with opportunities to deepen their understanding of the industry by tackling company challenges and receiving feedback from active creators.

This program aims to connect students aspiring to the anime industry with practical experience close to real work through opportunities to learn directly from companies, allowing them to more concretely envision their future employment and careers. Challenges and themes will be set for each company, providing students with opportunities to learn while experiencing the perspectives and thinking of the production sites. This time, in collaboration with Studio Khara, students will challenge themselves to create animation works based on production assignments set by the company.

Flow of the "Anime CG Practical Program" with Studio Khara

The participating courses are "Undergraduate CG/VFX Major" and "Specialized 3DCG Designer Major." Through a total of four sessions, students will tackle assignments simulating actual order formats and experience workflows mindful of production sites. During production, intermediate checks and feedback will be provided by active creators, allowing students to receive critiques on their work from a production site perspective. This program will be conducted over two months, running from mid-October to late December this time. Students will also aim to improve their planning, direction, and proposal skills while learning about production site perspectives beyond just technical aspects, such as ways of thinking in creating works and conveying production intent.

Furthermore, depending on the work and activities, there may be opportunities to connect with company representatives.
