This initiative aims to preserve Japan's food culture for future generations while creating new options to support the daily lives of not only athletes striving through intense training, but also individuals facing challenges in work, study, parenting, and beyond.
With excellent shelf stability, zero fat, and plant-based ingredients, TACT connects the wisdom of our ancestors with modern nutritional culture.
"Japan's tradition for the future."
And,
"A force to support those who challenge."
If you resonate with this vision, we invite you to view the project and support or share it.
Background of the Project Launch
In an era where so-called 'healthy' products constantly cycle in and out of popularity, and new nutritional theories and foods rise and fade, we found ourselves asking a simple question:
Why has yōkan remained beloved by the Japanese people for hundreds of years?
Yōkan is not merely a traditional sweet. It has excellent shelf life, efficiently replenishes energy, and is easy to carry. Historically, it has supported the daily lives of travelers, artisans, and samurai—truly Japan's proud 'survival food'.
Yet today, even among Japanese people, yōkan is often seen as 'something eaten only on special occasions' or 'for older generations'. Its essential value is not fully recognized.
We believe that yōkan—having supported people throughout history—can become a more accessible, everyday companion for modern athletes, business professionals, and anyone living a busy life.
What This Project Aims to Achieve
We aim to cultivate a new culture of energy replenishment, evolving into communities and events where like-minded individuals gather, and launching new initiatives in sports and wellness.
By reinterpreting traditional Japanese foods for modern life and establishing them as new lifestyle norms, we aim to connect people across Japan and the world through this culture, creating a new, globally respected market originating from Japan. This is the future we envision.
Personally, while living abroad, I have repeatedly witnessed the high regard for Japanese culture and cuisine. At the same time, I've noticed that many aspects of Japanese culture are consumed as 'special experiences'.
Tea ceremony, wagashi, traditional crafts—while deeply respected, they rarely become part of everyday life. Of course, this reflects respect for their long history and formality.
But we believe:
Truly exceptional culture should integrate into daily life and enrich it. Yōkan has been loved for centuries not merely because it's traditional, but because it has continuously served people across generations.
Therefore, we are committed to reinterpreting Japan's cultural assets for modern lifestyles and delivering them as new values to the world. TACT, developed through this project, is our flagship product embodying that vision.
