DeepL Opens Silicon Valley Office, Welcomes Mixhalo Team and Technology to Enhance Voice AI Capabilities

By incorporating Mixhalo's ultra-low latency audio technology, DeepL expands the application scope of real-time voice translation

Cologne, Germany and San Francisco, USA – June 17, 2026 – DeepL, a leading company in the language AI field, today announced that the team and technology behind Mixhalo, a San Francisco-based real-time ultra-low latency audio platform, have joined DeepL. This strategic move enables DeepL's real-time voice translation solution, 'DeepL Voice,' to operate effectively in large and complex environments where speed, accuracy, and reliability are critical—such as events, conferences, customer support, and business processes.

DeepL Voice has previously been used for real-time voice translation in online meetings and face-to-face communication. According to an independent benchmark study by Slator (published March 2026), it outperformed Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet in accuracy, fluency, and stability, achieving a translation quality score of 96.4/100 and a failure rate of 4% (compared to the market average of 17%). With the integration of Mixhalo’s team and technology, DeepL Voice now incorporates an ultra-low latency audio delivery infrastructure, enabling its use in live and large-scale settings. This allows translated audio and subtitles to be delivered clearly and instantly to audiences ranging from dozens to tens of thousands, while preserving natural speech rhythm and fluency.

Mixhalo was founded in 2016 by Mike Einziger, Ann Marie Simpson-Einziger, and Vik Singh, with the goal of enhancing live audio experiences. The platform is distinguished by its ability to simultaneously deliver high-quality, synchronized audio with extremely low latency to large audiences. It has been used by organizations such as MLB, NASCAR, EQUINOX, Verizon, T-Mobile, and the Sacramento Kings, and has been adopted at major events including CES, Mobile World Congress, Salesforce conferences, the Databricks AI Summit, and Microsoft AI Tour Paris. It has also been implemented in live music performances.

The new technology will be showcased at GITEX Europe 2026, taking place in late June 2026, where DeepL will serve as the official translation partner, providing real-time German-to-English subtitles on the main stage.
