DEEPCORE Inc. (hereinafter "DEEPCORE") has launched its YouTube channel "Hack Two!".

On this channel, we will directly interview researchers and entrepreneurs about technology seeds* lying dormant in research sites in cutting-edge deep tech fields such as AI, biotech, new materials, and robotics, and introduce them in videos that can be enjoyed by those unfamiliar with technology.

This initiative is operated as a commissioned project of the "Management Personnel Recruitment Support Project for University-launched Startups (MPM)" implemented by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO).

*Technology seeds: Technologies and ideas born in universities and research institutions that are not yet commercialized or productized.

Background

In Japan's deep tech sector, there are many globally competitive and excellent technology seeds. However, because the research content is highly advanced, contact with society is limited, and there is a challenge that its value and appeal are not fully communicated.

DEEPCORE has invested in approximately 140 companies to date. In addition, it operates "KERNEL," an incubation hub where researchers, engineers, and management personnel gather, forming a community of approximately 800 people. "Hack Two!" was launched to convey the appeal of the deep tech field to more people, utilizing the "eye for technology" and "knowledge of social implementation" cultivated through these initiatives. By widely disseminating the interest and potential of technology seeds, we will create opportunities for new interest and challenges.
