This festival will be held at Nishiyama Park, a symbol of Sabae City in Fukui Prefecture and selected as one of 'Japan's 100 Historical Parks.' Following the positive response to the first 'Sabae JAZZ Festival 2025' held last year, 2026 marks a new start as 'Sabae JAM Festival 2026.'
With the concept of 'an indie-culture-focused Sabae-style music festival,' it is planned and operated mainly by local citizens with diverse backgrounds. By crossing music that resonates across genres with locally rooted culture, it aims to disseminate 'Sabae's unique cultural scene' and create a festival with distinctive individuality.
Newly confirmed to perform are five groups: STRAIGHTENER, who continue to lead the Japanese rock scene with their unique sound; Oishikuru Melonpan, known for literary lyrics and transparent sound; TOTALFAT, supported for their energetic punk rock live performances; Chōnōryoku Senshi Dorian, popular for their humorous and entertaining live shows; and Survive Said The Prophet, a rock band highly acclaimed both in Japan and abroad.
Together with previously announced artists such as Kishidan, Kenichi Asai, Umeda Cypher, THE BAWDIES, Zainichi Funk, Ovall, and eastern youth, artists from diverse genres will gather at Nishiyama Park.
In addition to live music, there will be food and drink stalls, a market, and experiential content. During the festival period, the 'Craft Beer Forest in Nishiyama Park' event, which was well-received last year, will be held concurrently in the area in front of Nishiyama Park. Craft beer breweries from across the country will gather and offer their specialty craft beers. Festival-goers, local residents, and tourists can casually stop by and enjoy a variety of craft beers and gourmet food.
Admission to 'Craft Beer Forest in Nishiyama Park' is free. While tickets are required for the live music area, the craft beer event is open to everyone, making the entire Nishiyama Park area bustling for two days.
Furthermore, the adjacent Nishiyama Zoo within the park can also be entered for free. The chance to meet adorable red pandas is a major attraction. The festival aims to provide a unique experience integrating nature, music, food, and healing.
Rather than just 'listening' to music, visitors can 'feel' it along with the town's atmosphere and scenery in the unique location of Nishiyama Park, experiencing a special time where people, music, and community connect.
Additional artists and content announcements are planned for the future.
