Background of the Renewal: Reflecting Real On-Site Concerns

Against the backdrop of the aging workforce and labor shortages becoming serious in the construction industry, our company and Shimizu Corporation jointly developed "DARWING Working Assist AS," an assist suit that supports the arms and lower back, in 2020. However, as the product continued to be used in harsh actual work environments, urgent feedback from the field emerged, such as:

"The functions are good, but I want something easier to wear."

"It's too hot to wear in the summer."

Therefore, this time, we undertook a full model change to fundamentally solve these issues. We pursued overwhelming ease of use as a partner to help skilled "manual labor" continue for as long as possible.

New Product "DARWING Lift Up AS": 4 Evolutions to Save the Field

(1) Worn in about 10 seconds, from "attaching" to "wearing"

In response to feedback from the field, "I don't want to spend time putting it on," the structure was completely re-evaluated. It was changed to a simple structure where you wear it like a backpack, put your wrists through, and adjust with belts. It can be quickly put on in about 10 seconds, without interfering with work.

(2) Enhanced arm assist for both "lifting up" and "putting down"

Specialized in "arm support" when lifting heavy objects from the ground (floor, etc.) or knee height. Furthermore, when lowering loads from waist height to the ground or knee height, it prevents sudden loads due to gravity, achieving both work safety and reduced burden on the body.
