Cloud Gate Inc. (Location: Taito-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Koji Tomoda) will release its new service, "Story Scramble -Stosuku-", on April 1st.

Along with the release, in addition to the 11 companies participating in the first term (April 1, 2026 - September 30, 2026), we are now recruiting companies for the second term.

What is the new service "Story Scramble -Stosuku-"?

Produced by the "Net Novel Grand Prize" team, which operates one of Japan's largest light novel contests, this is a "multi-company participation community platform for writers." It provides a place for creating works with a new business model that directly connects "publishers' needs" and "writer development."

【1】A service that integrates "learning" and "commercialization of works"

Official sponsor publishers (official sponsor companies) communicate market needs and commercialization points to writers, sharing know-how for creating works.

We aim to be a platform that simultaneously solves the needs of companies looking for specific genres of works and the concerns of writers who "don't know what kind of works are sought after by the market or editors," supporting both sides.

【2】Maximize commercialization opportunities with multi-company participation

This service leverages the "cooperation capabilities with publishing-related companies" that only the Net Novel Grand Prize operation team can offer.

In addition to official sponsor companies that provide know-how, multiple companies participate as support companies. A unique strength of this service is its ability to provide broad commercialization opportunities, including re-evaluation chances for works not selected by official sponsor companies.

Official sponsor companies determine what kind of works will be created. We aim to be a platform that flexibly responds to a wide range of corporate requests, primarily focusing on commercialization as comic originals or novels, but also including game scenarios and audio scripts.

This service does not require submitting a completed work but has steps for "first submission" to assess planning potential and "second submission" to review story details.

This allows editors to provide individual feedback on planning-stage manuscripts, which is crucial in the comic adaptation market where the strength of the first chapter is key. It flexibly responds to corporate needs such as "wanting to focus on the first chapter" or "wanting to proceed while addressing concerns from the planning stage."
