C&R Inc. will hold a free online seminar on April 23rd (Thursday) for those interested in retro game development, titled "Introduction to Assembler from the 8-bit Era: Fundamentals of Retro Game Development".
While high-quality games are enjoyed today, opportunities to play retro games on the latest consoles are also increasing. Many may have fond memories of games played in childhood and might wish to develop those retro games themselves as creators or engineers.
C&R Inc. is holding this seminar to explain the assembly language commonly used in retro game development to such individuals.
Using representative game consoles from the 1980s as teaching material, this seminar will gently explain the fundamental structures of how games work, including CPU, registers, memory maps, sprites, and input processing. Participants will also tackle a mini-programming exercise, focusing on the "simple yet logical movement creation methods" seen in sports games of that era. We encourage all interested individuals to join.

His self-developed "Volleyball" (Family Computer Disk System) was adopted by Nintendo, leading to a 15-year exclusive contract during which he was involved in the production of various Nintendo titles. His game development philosophy is "challenging new things." At Nintendo, he created the first 6-player volleyball game and Nintendo's first adventure game series, "Shin Onigashima." He also produced "Super Real Baseball" for VAP, which was the first baseball game to feature licensed teams and all players appearing with their real names. He continued game production in various environments, and from 2000, he became involved in education, lecturing on programming at vocational schools, universities, and high schools. He plans to continue conveying the fun of game creation to the next generation while striving to create his own masterpiece.
