Tokyo, Japan – COUNTERWORKS Inc. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director & CEO: Naoki Sampei; hereinafter “COUNTERWORKS”) today announced that its leasing (※) DX system for commercial facilities, “Shop Counter Enterprise,” will be implemented by Beisia Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture; Representative Director & President: Takahito Aiki), a company operating supermarkets.
※Leasing: The business of attracting and recruiting tenants by commercial facilities.
Background of Implementation
Beisia upholds the corporate philosophy of “Better quality at lower prices,” operating 138 supermarkets across 1 capital and 14 prefectures, supporting the daily lives of customers in each region. Its distinguishing features include a wide range of products centered on food, market development from a consumer perspective, and community-based store operations. In addition to improving daily shopping convenience, Beisia also plays a role as infrastructure supporting local communities and is continuously working to create diverse reasons for customer visits and enhance store value.
While Beisia intends to increase store revenue through events, leasing operation management was primarily done using Excel. Coupled with the large number of target spaces, this situation led to risks such as information management relying heavily on individuals and potential oversight in handling inquiries. Furthermore, increasing the number of events with limited personnel often resulted in higher operational burden, making it challenging to balance with revenue expansion. Additionally, existing recruitment channels limited the creation of new touchpoints with businesses, including those in food, retail, and sales promotion, highlighting the need for a mechanism to connect with a broader range of tenants.
Goals of Implementing Shop Counter Enterprise
Against this backdrop, through the implementation of “Shop Counter Enterprise,” Beisia aims to achieve both the expansion of event revenue and the standardization of operations, thereby establishing a sustainable operational structure that does not overly rely on manpower. By visualizing recruitment status, inquiry details, and operational results, and iteratively improving, Beisia will enhance the reproducibility of results. Furthermore, by building a foundation for accumulating and utilizing recruitment cases and tenant information, it will inform future store development and tenant attraction policies. This will enable both improved profitability and enhanced store appeal.
Initially, the implementation will start with 7 stores, gradually unifying operational flows such as tenant recruitment, inquiry reception, schedule adjustments, and application management while proceeding with the launch of a dedicated recruitment website. This will establish a system where both headquarters and individual stores can easily grasp the situation, and verification will proceed for future expansion. During the implementation, COUNTERWORKS’ dedicated consultants will provide end-to-end support, from initial design to operational establishment and outcome generation, to ensure rapid operational improvement and revenue enhancement.
Comment from the Implementing Company
**Mr. Naoki Takahashi, Leasing Department, Beisia Co., Ltd.**
"At our company, we position events not merely as securing non-operating income, but as an important initiative to offer customers new discoveries and reasons to visit. However, until now, recruitment, adjustment, and management tasks tended to be handled individually, presenting challenges in standardizing operations and expanding touchpoints with new businesses. By implementing Shop Counter Enterprise, we expect to streamline our operational framework and create opportunities to meet a wider range of tenants. We aim to steadily verify results in the initial 7 stores and connect this to both improved profitability and increased store vibrancy."
