The original work is a manga of the same name by Akira Miyashita, which began serialization in Shueisha's "Weekly Shonen Jump" in 1985. It was adapted into an anime in 1988 and was so popular that a theatrical film was also produced. Since then, it has been developed into sequels and spin-off works, as well as stage adaptations and web anime distribution. The theme song by Ichibishoku Sepia, which included Toshiro Yanagiba and Sho Aikawa, was also a hit. It is a work that has continued to fascinate fans for 40 years.

The story is set in "Otoko Juku," a school that gathers delinquent boys from all over the country. Through deadly battles and superhuman Spartan training, the story focuses on honing friendship and true "manhood." With its intensely unique characters, thrilling confrontation scenes, and shocking lines, it left an unforgettable impact on boys in elementary, junior high, and high school at the time. Even after 40 years, it remains a representative battle manga of the 80s, passionately supported by many people.

Vol. 3's booklet features an interview with Sandwich Man, fans of Otoko Juku. Their love for the series, which leads them to frequently incorporate "Otoko Juku" into their comedy material and talks, explodes in this interview. They also spoke about their interactions with Mr. Miyashita.

Additionally, the booklet includes "Traveling Edition 'Minmei Shobo'!? 'Sakigake!! Otoko Juku Glossary,'" which covers the famous competitions that Sandwich Man fears saying, "I don't want to do any of them!" It also features "Momotaro Tendo's Advice Column!? Special Interview: Sandwich Man

Sandwich Man, known for their love of "Sakigake!! Otoko Juku," appear in an interview. Date talks about his affection for the character Omihito Date, who shares the same surname, and his favorite characters based on personality. Tomizawa praises the anime he watched in real-time, saying, "It captured my heart!" and "The voice of Heihachi Edajima was exactly as I imagined, 120 points."

Sandwich Man, who have a close relationship with the author Akira Miyashita, even asking him to draw a poster illustration for their solo live performance and inviting him as a guest on their radio show. The interview is full of valuable stories, including Mr. Miyashita's friendly and down-to-earth personality, which is completely different from "Otoko Juku," and "Otoko Juku" secrets that the duo heard from Mr. Miyashita.

Furthermore, Date passionately states, "If you were born a man in this world, you must watch it. It's the bible for men, an instruction manual!" Tomizawa sends a heartfelt message, saying, "If you don't help spread (Otoko Juku), we'll fall flat on our faces!!"

Highlights of Episodes 20-28

The long battle, "Kyōra Dai Shikkyō-satsu," finally reaches its climax. Battles in the third trial, "Hyōzon Enmon-kan," and the fourth trial, "Chōkyoku Daisō Kafun-kan," lead to sad farewells with comrades... Then, a death invitation arrives from the leader of the third-year students, Jaki Daigōin, and the deadly battle begins on the stage of "Makyu Tendō-kyū." Momotaro and the others are powerless against Jaki's overwhelming strength. However, powerful allies appear.
