Anime "World Trigger" REBOOT Project "Black Trigger Selection Arc" in Production! Character Designs Revealed & Walkthrough Exhibition Event Announced!

★ REBOOT Project "Black Trigger Selection Arc" in Production...! Character Designs Revealed for the First Time!

The "World Trigger" REBOOT project, announced in December 2025, is moving forward. It has been revealed that the "Black Trigger Selection Arc," representing the opening episodes of the "World Trigger 1st Season," is currently in production as a "completely new" anime.

The "Black Trigger Selection Arc" is the very beginning of the story, depicting the meeting of Osamu and Yuma from the first chapter of the original manga up to Yuma's enlistment in Border. In a special video premiered at the "World Trigger Festival 2026" on April 26, character design art for main characters like Yuma and Osamu was revealed for the first time.

[INTRODUCTION] Mikado City, population 280,000. One day, a gate to another dimension opened in this city. Invaders from this dimension, later called "Neighbors," overran the area near the gate, plunging the city into terror. Weapons on Earth had little effect on Neighbors, and the city's destruction seemed like a matter of time. However, a mysterious group suddenly appeared and repelled the Neighbors. They formed "Border," an organization that independently studied Neighbor technology and fought to protect "this side" of the world. Within a short period, they built a massive base and established a defense system against the Neighbors. Four years have passed. Despite the gate still being open, surprisingly few people have left Mikado City. Osamu Mikumo, a middle school student, was a member of Border. One day, a transfer student arrived in Osamu's class. The boy, named Yuma Kuga, possessed a weapon called a "Trigger," which only Border personnel were allowed to carry. When questioned by Osamu, Yuma replied: "I came from the world on the other side of the gate. I'm what you guys call a 'Neighbor.'" The story of Yuma and Osamu begins to move.
