Resilire Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Yuta Tsuda; hereinafter referred to as "our company") is pleased to announce that it has joined the Japan Auto Parts Industries Association (hereinafter referred to as "JAPIA") as a full member.
Background The automotive industry is one of the industrial structures with extremely high complexity and interdependence in manufacturing, built upon an enormous number of parts, approximately 20,000 to 30,000 per vehicle, and a multi-layered supplier network that supplies them. In recent years, risks threatening supply chains have become apparent and diversified, including large-scale natural disasters, cyberattacks, parts shortages, and increasing geopolitical risks. In such environments, it is increasingly important not only to quickly assess the impact during emergencies but also to accurately grasp the overall supply network, including secondary and subsequent suppliers, from normal times, and to identify potential bottlenecks. Our company aims to provide the following value to JAPIA by leveraging our expertise in supply chain risk management, which we have primarily provided to the manufacturing industry:
1. Contributing to strengthening supply chains specific to the automotive industry. We promote the digitization of supplier information in a multi-layered structure. By establishing visualization from normal times, we enable rapid response during emergencies, and support the formulation of procurement strategies and decision-making that are resilient to change, by quantitatively and comprehensively understanding the overall dependencies and bottlenecks of the supply network.
2. Sharing industry standard risk management knowledge. Through JAPIA's activities, we support information sharing among member companies and the development of best practices in risk management. We contribute to the standardization of risk management optimized for complex automotive supply chains.
3. Supporting response to "Economic Security". We support the assurance of supply chain transparency (traceability) in response to changes in laws, regulations, and international affairs. By visualizing geopolitical supply disruption risks, we contribute to maintaining the international competitiveness of the automotive industry.
Comment from Yuta Tsuda, CEO of Resilire Inc. The major challenge in the automotive industry's supply chain lies in how to quickly and accurately grasp the situation of overlapping supply networks. Current management relying on manual labor or experience, or responding only after an event occurs, is insufficient to cope with the diverse risks of recent times. Our company believes that risk assessment is a crucial foundation of management that should be addressed not only during emergencies but also from normal times. With this opportunity of joining JAPIA, we will work together with member companies to visualize unseen risks through the power of technology and contribute to the Japanese automotive industry.
