'Money Forward ME' Updates to Add 'Cryptocurrency' Asset Category

Money Forward Home Co., Ltd. will update its money visualization service 'Money Forward ME' to update asset category classifications and newly add a 'Cryptocurrency' category (*1). This will allow users to grasp the status of cryptocurrencies, which have large price fluctuations, separately from deposits and cash, enabling more accurate asset management.

*1: For users of the app version, please update the 'Money Forward ME' app to Ver.19.19.0 or later. Versions prior to this may have some restrictions on displaying new asset categories. Please note that updates are released in stages, so it may take time for the changes to be reflected on your device.

◾️Background of the Update

Previously, 'Deposits, Cash, and Cryptocurrencies' were classified under the same category within the 'Assets' tab. However, we have received many requests from users who want to manage their daily living funds (deposits and cash) separately from investment assets, and who want to more clearly understand the trends of their assets according to their intended use. In response to these user voices, we have updated the conventional asset classification and newly established the 'Cryptocurrency' category. This will enable smoother management of both income and expenses, and mid-to-long-term asset building.

<Benefits of the Update>

- Improved accuracy of asset status:

Since the sharp price fluctuations of cryptocurrencies will not affect the graphs and balance trends of deposits and cash, users can accurately grasp their daily income and expenses.

- Optimization of portfolio:

By clarifying the holding ratio of cryptocurrencies in asset allocation, it becomes easier to review asset allocation from an objective perspective and optimize the portfolio.

'Money Forward ME' will continue to work on service improvements and development based on user feedback.
