The “iGi indie Game incubator” program, organized by Marvelous Inc. in partnership with GameBCN, will exhibit as a silver sponsor at BitSummit PUNCH, one of Japan’s largest indie game festivals, held in Kyoto from May 22 to 24, 2026. This year, Marvelous, iGi, and XSEED Games will share a joint booth. XSEED Games is a game brand operated by group company Marvelous USA, Inc. in California. In addition to works from the current sixth cohort, the booth will feature titles from previous iGi participants: Labylab’s Dr. Mememe Wants to Sleep, which was developed by a fifth-cohort team and is set to be published by Marvelous; Studio ZeF’s No Door Cannot Be Opened with a Non-Black Key, a new work from the fifth-cohort team that won the Excellence in Game Design Award at last year’s BitSummit; and Death the Guitar by Toroyama My Battery Is Fried, a third-cohort team whose title won the Vermilion Gate Award, BitSummit’s grand prize, in 2023. BitSummit PUNCH will take place from May 22 to 24, 2026, at Miyako Messe, Kyoto International Exhibition Hall, Hall 2 on the first floor. The booth location is 1F-A26 to A27. May 22 is Business Day, while May 23 and 24 are public days. Opening hours are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The iGi booth will showcase five selected teams from the sixth cohort. MY NEW GAMES will present Dystopia VS Distortion, an effect-board-building roguelike combining a guitar girl, effects pedals, and deck building. Monetess will show Replica Club√D, a story-driven game in which a rookie manager moves between reality and dreams while facing her past and hidden truths through exploration, combat, and negotiation systems inspired by tabletop RPGs. Menya Spice Tokyo Branch will exhibit The Nakano Laboratory, a multi-ending mystery adventure game about solving a disappearance aboard the Nakano Personality Transplant Laboratory by possessing suspicious researchers and gathering evidence. softoko will show Voyage Router, a route-exploration roguelike in which players navigate procedurally generated terrain using a map and adjust their route according to changing conditions. The special industry-academia-government collaboration slot will feature Cross the C by Project Cross the C from Tokyo Institute of Science’s digital creation club traP, a top-down ice-floor puzzle game about guiding a ship that cannot stop until it hits a wall. Marvelous’ lineup includes Dr. Mememe Wants to Sleep, developed by LabyLab and planned for Steam in 2027, described as an exponentially cute sheep-delivery game; No Door Cannot Be Opened with a Non-Black Key, developed by Studio ZeF and planned for Steam in 2027, a 2D action puzzle game built around manipulating the negative word “not” to rewrite sentences and alter the rules of the world; and Death the Guitar, developed by Toroyama My Battery Is Fried and planned for Steam in 2027, a pop and violent 2D side-scrolling action game starring an electric guitar seeking revenge. XSEED Games will exhibit The Big Catch, a 3D acrobatic action game by Filet Group for Steam with release date to be announced, in which fisher Caster searches for ingredients using wall-running, sliding, spinning, swimming, climbing, and grinding; and Moonlight Peaks: A Vampire’s Gothic Life, a supernatural life simulation game by Little Chicken Game Company scheduled for release on Steam on July 7, 2026, where players live as a vampire in the magical town of Moonlight Peaks, grow mystical crops, brew potions, learn magic, and build friendships or romances with werewolves, witches, mermaids, and other residents. iGi indie Game incubator is Japan’s first incubation program for indie game creators, aimed at aspiring game developers. Over approximately six months, mentors from Japan and abroad provide thorough support from development to presentation, with follow-up support after graduation to help developers continue growing and advancing their careers. The sixth cohort runs from March to September 2026. The program is organized by Marvelous Inc., built in cooperation with GameBCN in Barcelona, Spain, and operated with support from Head High Co., Ltd. and Ludimus Inc.
