freee K.K. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Daisuke Sasaki; hereinafter "freee") has released survey data on AI utilization and career perspectives, conducted among 663 young male and female employees in their first to third year after graduating from university.

While corporate adoption of AI is accelerating to address labor shortages and improve productivity, the perspectives of the young employees who will drive this adoption remain insufficiently understood. Given this background, freee conducted an internet survey targeting young employees in their first to third year of employment to explore their views on AI and their careers.
The survey revealed that 69.8% believe that "whether or not one can master AI will create a difference in annual income and market value five years from now," and 74.5% feel attracted to changing jobs to "companies that actively utilize and recommend AI." Furthermore, nearly half (45.2%) stated they would include "companies that recommend AI utilization" as a condition when considering future job changes. Additionally, 46% stated that "insufficient AI utilization at their current workplace would be a major reason to consider changing jobs," a figure that rises to 77.1% when including those who said it would have at least some influence, indicating that companies not actively utilizing AI may see higher turnover intentions among young employees.
freee has declared its goal to become an "AI-native company" starting in 2025, implementing initiatives such as monthly AI onboarding for all employees, regardless of whether they are new graduates or mid-career hires.
Regarding internal AI utilization, the use of AI chatbots has halved inquiries to the General Affairs department, saving approximately 991 hours of work time in one year. In Sales & Marketing, AI not only automatically summarizes meeting content and inputs information into CRM systems but also determines the phase of sales negotiations. These mechanisms have reduced post-meeting processing time by 45.2% and post-call processing time for customers and prospects by 56.2%, leading to a 21.7 percentage point increase in time spent communicating with customers. These efforts earned freee the "AI Transformation Award" at the Forbes JAPAN NEW SALES OF THE YEAR 2025 (*). Additionally, there are cases where first-year employees at freee are using AI to develop internal efficiency tools.
freee plans to conduct AI training, including workshops, on April 3rd for new graduates joining the company on April 1st, 2026. The company will continue to promote AI utilization not only in the products it provides but also among its own employees.
