Gift Shop YELL May 2026 Activity Report
Gift shop YELL, located a two-minute walk from Gotanda Station, delivers curated items under the concept of 'sending support (yell) to yourself, your loved ones, and the producers.' Throughout May 2026, the shop hosted numerous collaborative events in partnership with ethical brands, artists, and local markets.
From brand collaborations featuring a high school CEO on the shop floor to the first-ever 'Art Marche' and participation in the community-focused 'Osaki Marche,' the shop provided exciting experiences for all ages, creating a space that acts as a bridge between manufacturers and customers. As the shop approaches its 4th anniversary since opening in June 2022, it is planning anniversary events to express gratitude to its customers.
### May 2 (Sat): Ethical Brand 'smateria' Collaboration Event
The shop hosted a collaboration with the Cambodian-born upcycled brand 'smateria.' High school CEO Mizuho Mori stood on the shop floor to personally share the appeal of the products with visiting customers. The event was bustling with shoppers looking for eco-friendly and thoughtful gifts for the upcoming Mother's Day.
### May 5 (Tue/Holiday): First-ever 'Art Marche' Experience
YELL held its inaugural 'Art Marche.' Featuring four up-and-coming guest artists, the event offered not only exhibitions and sales of artwork but also interactive workshops. Attendees included regular customers, local middle-aged generations, children, and fans of the artists. For participants, it was a place to feel closer to art; for artists, it was a space to be supported, resulting in a highly successful event that brought excitement to all.
### May 23 (Sat): 'Zero Chemical Organic' In-Store Collaboration & 'Osaki Marche' Participation
On this day, events were held simultaneously at the store and the local market.
- In-store collaboration: Inviting 'Zero Chemical Organic,' the shop held a touch-up event for facial cleansing powder, avocado butter, and upcoming lotion products. It provided a valuable opportunity for customers to experience products while hearing directly from the manufacturer about their dedication to craftsmanship. - Osaki Marche: The shop showcased a curated selection of items perfect for the upcoming summer and rainy season. This offered a chance for visitors to casually discover body- and earth-friendly goods such as sea glass accessories, gluten-free sweets, and the trending 'Umamo.'
### Special Feature: Event Commemorative Talk
A talk was held between Mr. Ohara, representative of Zero Chemical Organic, and YELL manager Ms. Matsumoto. They discussed the background behind the search for 'products one truly wants to use,' stemming from the representative's personal experience with skin problems, and the commitment to simple skincare without preservatives.
