Stardust Revue and Kiyotaka Sugiyama & Omega Tribe's First Joint Live Captivates 10,000 People!!

The first joint live performance by Stardust Revue and Kiyotaka Sugiyama & Omega Tribe, titled "YOKOHAMA NIGHT GROOVE! Are-re no Panchos!!", was held on the 1st at PIA Arena MM in Kanagawa Prefecture.

The event captivated the fans gathered with a string of timeless hit songs.

The two bands' encounter dates back to their amateur days when they competed against each other in contests. Around the late 1970s to 1980, Stardust Revue performed as the precursor band "Are-re no Re," while Kiyotaka Sugiyama & Omega Tribe went by the name "Kyūty Panchos," fiercely competing. After forging their respective careers, the two groups, after more than 40 years, finally achieved their first "対バン" (joint live) performance.

On stage, they delivered a succession of gem hit numbers that remain in J-POP history, including Stardust Revue's "Mokuran no Namida" and "Yume Densetsu," and Kiyotaka Sugiyama & Omega Tribe's "SUMMER SUSPICION" and "Futari no Natsu Monogatari - NEVER ENDING SUMMER -." Furthermore, valuable collaborations were realized, such as covers of Crystal King's "Daitōkoku" and Anzen Chitai's "Kanashimi ni Sayonara," keeping the audience excited throughout.

Stardust Revue's vocalist, Kaname Nemoto, said, "It's wonderful that we've maintained this friendship and connection. We became professionals, but our love for music hasn't changed. You all came here drawn to that sound. We could never have put on a show like this on our own." Sugiyama added, "This project started as a joke, and I never thought it would actually happen. And to see so many people gathered here... Thank you very much," expressing his gratitude to the fans.

During the encore, the two groups concluded their first joint live performance by playing the songs they performed at the contest that led to their meeting.

This live performance was broadcast live on WOWOW and will be available for archive streaming on WOWOW On Demand for the next month. Additionally, a documentary program chronicling the events leading up to this live performance is scheduled to be broadcast in October.
