Next-Generation Innovator Program "SAGA IGNITE" Launches in Saga

The Regional Revitalization Co-Design Institute (Representative Director: Hidenori Kigami) has begun recruiting young talent for "SAGA IGNITE," a next-generation innovator development program held in Saga Prefecture, starting June 1, 2026. This program is a hands-on initiative that focuses on regional issues in Saga, involving IT product development and aiming for social implementation. This effort is conducted under the framework of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's "AKATSUKI Project," which supports the development of top IT and entrepreneurial talent in regions through mentorship by project managers (PMs) active in industry and academia. The program is inspired by the "Mitou Project" promoted by METI and IPA, bringing the spirit of "geniuses nurturing geniuses" to Saga. The program is open to young people aged 15 to 39 who have ties to Saga Prefecture. Selected projects will receive up to 1 million yen in development support. Applications are open until June 30, with development and final presentations scheduled through January 2027.
