Will TSMC Chairman Personally Address Bonus Cut Rumors? Wei Says 'Wait Until Tomorrow'

Central News Agency (CNA), Taipei, May 26. Recent rumors suggest that TSMC plans to cut employee bonuses by 15%, sparking dissatisfaction among internal staff. It is reported that TSMC Chairman and CEO C.C. Wei may personally step forward to communicate and explain the situation. Regarding this, Wei responded briefly to questions after a dinner with NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang tonight, saying, 'Wait until tomorrow.'

Huang continued his tour of the supply chain today. In an interview at noon, he announced that he would have dinner with Wei tonight to thank TSMC for everything they have done for NVIDIA. This is because the production of Grace Blackwell is progressing very smoothly, and they have also begun producing Vera Rubin, as well as the Vera CPU and many new chips.

He also emphasized, 'We must ensure we are completely aligned; the next six months will be very busy. We are working very closely to ensure we have all the capacity we need.'

By evening, a large number of media had gathered at the dining location. Huang arrived by car with his daughter, Spencer Huang, at the Taiwanese restaurant 'San Liu Shi Fu' around 5:33 PM. Wei led a group of top executives to attend, including Executive Vice President and Co-COO Y.P. Chin, Executive Vice President and Co-COO Y.J. The dinner between Huang and Wei ended around 8:00 PM, and the two distributed snacks together. When asked by the media how the conversation went, Wei said, 'It was a very pleasant chat.' As for whether anything special was discussed, Wei avoided the question, saying, 'The food was very good.'
