Japanese Couple Gives Birth in Taiwan; Hsinchu NTU Hospital Provides One-Stop Care

The International Medical Center at Hsinchu NTU Hospital recently assisted a Japanese couple with one-stop prenatal and postnatal care, using Japanese interpretation and warm service to soothe their anxiety in a foreign land. After the baby recovered and was discharged, the Japanese wife sent a handwritten card to thank the medical team for their thoughtful companionship. Hsinchu NTU Hospital announced today that the Japanese wife had a high-risk pregnancy complicated by gestational diabetes. The hospital arranged for obstetricians and internists capable of communicating in Japanese to provide joint care, and assigned a Japanese interpreter throughout the process, allowing the couple to communicate in their native language during every prenatal check-up, reducing their anxiety about seeking medical care abroad. On the day of delivery, the hospital arranged a comfortable, integrated delivery room to provide a safe environment for the couple. Although the baby required hospitalization for jaundice after birth, the baby recovered after treatment and was discharged smoothly. The hospital stated that they have continued to assist the wife with postpartum recovery and blood sugar monitoring for several months, and the newborn has also completed vaccinations and regular check-ups on schedule.
