Chunghwa Post A7 Park to Complete Optimization in June; 1,448 New Hires Planned for H2

After the relocation of Chunghwa Post's Taipei Mail Processing Center to the A7 Logistics Park in Guishan, Taoyuan, initial operations faced delays, leading to complaints from the labor union regarding equipment and staffing. Chunghwa Post stated that with personnel arriving, equipment adjustments, and process optimization, operations are expected to normalize by early June. The company plans to recruit 1,448 people in the second half of the year. The union pointed out that the lack of practical support and hasty decision-making turned the facility into a nightmare for frontline staff, causing severe backlogs. They presented six demands, including adjusting processing capacity, issuing a public apology, and addressing staffing shortages. Chunghwa Post Vice President Tsai Wen-ching acknowledged the initial operational oversights during a press conference, stating that the situation is now under control. He noted that the new parcel sorter can handle 24,000 parcels per hour, which is sufficient for demand. For items requiring manual sorting, additional personnel will be deployed. Tsai promised that with ongoing optimization, operations will return to normal by early June. Regarding recruitment, the company plans to hire 1,744 people this year, with 1,448 in the second half. Regarding overtime, Tsai emphasized that it will strictly comply with the Labor Standards Act and will only be conducted with the consent of the employees involved.
