However, with a strong rally from MediaTek and robust performance from passive components and low-earth orbit satellite sectors, TSMC's decline narrowed. The TAIEX rebounded after midday, with the decline shrinking to within 100 points. Towards the closing bell, volume decreased and the market pulled back, with the weighted index ultimately falling by 280.54 points to close at 40,891.82 points, with a turnover of NT$990.466 billion. The leading heavyweight stock, TSMC, closed at NT$2,240, down NT$25 or 1.1%, with a market capitalization of NT$58.09 trillion. Delta Electronics closed at NT$2,020, down 2.65%.
