Pingtung Launches Hengchun Original Theater Project, Inviting Broad Public Participation

It extends a broad invitation to people who love drama, music, and performance to join, regardless of their professional training, allowing more people to see the local culture through performance. The Department of Cultural Affairs released a press statement today, stating that Hengchun has a deep foundation of folk songs and living culture, making it very suitable for developing local original theater. The "Hengchun Original Theater Project" focuses on drama, singing, and live music performance to develop stage productions unique to Pingtung and the Hengchun Peninsula. The department said that the Hengchun Cultural Center, as an important base for arts exhibitions, performances, and talent training on the Hengchun Peninsula, hopes that this project will provide comprehensive training opportunities through actor training, dance and performance workshops, and long-term rehearsals and practical application. This will encourage more young people to participate in artistic creation and cultivate the next generation of stage talent for the Hengchun Peninsula.
